Coats for Kids
Through
its annual "Coats For Kids" project, Porter’s Cleaners works with KSLA-TV12
and Goodwill Industries
to distribute coats to kids who might otherwise not have one.
Beginning in November, coats are donated and collected at all Porter’s Cleaners locations. Porter’s then makes necessary repairs, cleans the coats and distributes them to the kids. The first distribution is a collective effort between Porter’s, Goodwill and the teachers of local schools. This event concludes with a “Coats For Kids” distribution on a Saturday in January. It will occur on January 8, 2005 this year.
Through this project, tens of thousands of coats have been donated to those in need.
We
have partnered with KSLA-TV12
to present the Educator of the Week. This program recognizes educators in the
Ark-La-Tex who go above and beyond!
Porter's is proud to sponsor "Newspapers In the Classroom". This unique program allows us to select a school in which we will provide weekly newspapers to a class.

Jude's Research Center - Dream
Home Giveaway - This nation wide fund raising drive is executed at the local
level and Porter's proudly participates. St Jude's helps countless children win
the battle of childhood cancer. Porter's is very proud to help in this effort.
- Bear Hugs - where we clean the collected bears to be given to children in needy situations. They are also given to officers to carry in their patrol cars
- Flag Kits - we sell flags at our cost.
- Collect Cell phones - for Caddo council on aging - phones are programmed for 911 service for elderly citizens.
- Collect Eye Glasses - for the Lions Club vision program.
